I work in close association with Hamble Point Yacht Charters, for whom I act as Corporate
Event Manager. HPYC is a long established, owner managed charter company with a large
and varied fleet of yachts and a deservedly high reputation.
Our experience of corporate sailing activities extends from one boat, one-day events
to a 20 boat, four-day cross Channel event with 150 participants.
Corporate sailing fits broadly into three categories, but we avoid "packaging" and
will always work with the client to design and implement an event aimed at the specific
corporate objectives.
- Corporate hospitality We can provide an interesting and exciting environment, which
provides good opportunities for strengthening external relationships between your
business and its clients. Participants can be as involved as they wish in sailing
the boat, or can sit back and enjoy the ambience if they prefer.
- Teambuilding A yacht provides a challenging platform for activities, which will help
your team to work more closely together. Some tasks may be competitive and others
will require input from all members if the activity is to succeed. One thing is for
certain – the boat won't sail itself!
- Motivation and Reward Good performance is stimulated by recognition, and many companies
seek ways to acknowledge the efforts of their staff. A day afloat on a prestigious
yacht, perhaps with lunch ashore, or a buffet on board, is an excellent way to strengthen
the company's identity among its workforce.
